Markus Persson, the creator of Minecraft best known as Notch to the community, says that the success of his indie title has created a lot of pressure and is currently giving him a bad case of writer’s block.

VG247 is quoting the developer as saying that, “I’m starting to feel writer’s block as a result. I’m not sure if it’s pressure to repeat – actually, it is the pressure to repeat.”

He adds, “With Minecraft it was just easier, because nobody knew who I was. Now I post a new idea and millions of people scrutinize it. There’s a conflict between the joy of being able to do whatever I want and the remarkable pressure of a watching world. I don’t know how to switch it off.”

Persson is an indie developer that wants to work with small teams and to try out a variety of ideas before launching a final game.

Minecraft went through a number of beta versions and even now, the game constantly receives updates that change the balance and add new features.

After Minecraft received its final version, Notch has announced that he is working on a new game called 0x10c, which is designed to allow players to program and control the computer that flies a starship.

A prototype was quickly created and the fan community got access to videos and screenshots.

Since then, the game has received less publicity and Notch seems to be content to take the project underground for the moment and later present a clearer vision to his fans.

It’s unclear when 0x10c will launch or what kind of business model it will use.

The Mojang studio that Persson leads is also working on another title called Scrolls, which will combine turn-based tactical battles with card play.

The title is expected to arrive on the PC later during the year.
