Symantec, the famous security company and developer of so many technologies, cooks another version of Norton 360, the security suite offering several utilities. The folks at PC Magazine today reported that Norton 360 2.0 is entering beta testing stages, the new version including multiple new features. So, let's see Norton 360 2.0's offering. First of all, the new security solution bundles all the previous features included in the first release. Then, the 2.0 edition includes functions such as Norton Identity Safe and Registry Cleaner, in order to assure a smooth computer performance and full system protection.

Norton Identity Safe is a function brought to you by Norton Internet Security 2008, as PC Magazine wrote. In addition, the new Norton 360 release comes with Browser Protection "called Browser Defender in Norton Internet Security 2008", according to the same source, and is supposed to protect the browsing experience and defend the user of web threats.

But, what seems to be the most important feature is the Smart Background Scheduler function able to control the processes launched by the security suite, depending on the computer usage. For example, it uses only a small amount of bandwidth, in order to avoid affecting the user's browsing experience or the computer performance. "In addition, the product is more tightly integrated with Windows", PC Magazine added.

Just like many other technologies released in the last few months, Norton 360 2.0 will also bundle some optimizing features supposed to repair Windows registry errors and other glitches discovered in the operating system. The Registry Cleaner will attempt to clean the computer of unnecessary content, such as temporary files or other data dropped by the browsers. Firefox will be among the ones to support, the same source continued.

Until Norton 360 2.0 will be available in final version, you can always download the first edition of the security suite published right here on Softpedia.
