The device was primarly used by the Government

I have recently told you about the Microsoft's Surface or the Rosie Coffee Table's capabilities of creating real interactivity with their users. I mentioned back then that the only difference between the two of them was given by the target customers.

This time, it's Northrop Grumman's turn to launch a similar product on the market. They're planning to show the TouchTable next week at a conference in London. Still, this seems to be a major step in the industry for the fellows from Northrop, as their product is going to be something more than Rosie and resembling Apple's planning table.

The secretly kept device is said to have been actually used in the defense sector for several years now. This reminds me of the Government's political correctness when secretly developing gadgets. Anyway, as they used the device for a long time, they had enough time to make a short review on that, therefore they called it the "integrated collaboration environment," or much "sexier", ICE, as Gizmodo said.

The great thing with this kind of device is the way it simplifies the whole thing. I can even imagine how easier a private meeting would be if you put your fingers on the display to shift images away, to zoom them out, or in.

According to the Northrop Grumman's representatives, there are two versions of the TouchTable one of 45 inch screen with a nice 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and the other one with an 84-inch screen with 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. The latest version also includes some nice dual external displays.

The fact that the table solution was already bought is a weird thing as it wasn't even officially launched, yet. FAA are the ones that purchased the TouchTable with the purpose of installing it in their "Cyber Security Incident Response Center." The device has also drawn the attention of some media moguls, since it is going to be used by CNN's Wolf Blitzer in the "Situation Room".

As you can probably imagine, there's no point in searching for its price tag! Auch!
