Barnes & Nobles tablets ship with the company’s own customized UI, so apart from tapping into the B&N ecosystem, users don’t have too many choices in terms of use.

But don’t despair, if you have a Nook tablet lying around somewhere, the N2A cards are here to dissipate all the woes. These little microSD cards come bundling an open version of Android installed.

And guess what? Slip them in your Nook (Nook Color, Nook Tablet or Nook HD/HD+), reboot the slate and, boom, you’ve got an Android tablet on your hands, complete with Google Play access.

But the coolest part is that the newest versions of the cards all have Android 4.4 KitKat on them, so you’ll get to turn your outdated device into the most modern Android slate model, for a modest price-tag price too.

The cards also offer additional storage between 4GB and 25GB and ship for $30 / €22 to $50 / €37 a pop.
