The Uncharted series has long been praised for its narrative and for the way the development team at Naughty Dog uses voice actors and motion capture in order to deliver a realistic experience and the voice of main character Nathan Drake says that the new game in the series pushes the movie comparison even further.

Speaking to IGN Nolan North, who is one of the most popular voice actors in the world of video games, has stated, “In the first game, we would do the mo-cap and then have to go back in and do ourselves. Now we have our own mo-cap studio. I think it makes a difference with the focus. You can’t be as lazy. Being able to do the audio, I think the game’s going to have a much more realistic quality.”

He pushed the comparison with television and movies saying that a lot of casual players will not be able to make the difference when seeing other play Uncharted 3.

The voice actor also believes that all his roles are important for a performer, adding, “So, you don’t have people saying, ‘Why are you discussing this scene so much. It’s just a video game.’ ‘Just a video game’ is becoming a thing of the past. There’s no such thing. This is a quality production. We want to make the best game. We’re not here to half-ass it.”

Nolan North also revealed that he actually stole one of his lines for Drake's Deception from his eight years old son, who said the phrase “Kitty got wet” while playing Wii Tennis and prompted his father to adopt it as a catchphrase for Nathan Drake.

Uncharted 3 is now available all over the world exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and the game has been receiving very positive reviews.
