Nokia has just announced the availability of the X5-01 smartphone on the Indian market, further expanding its smartphone lineup in the country. The device can be purchased for Rs. 10,499 (about $232 USD).

The phone features a slide form factor and includes a full QWERTY keyboard accompanied by the usual social networking services like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Hi5, as well as major IMs and webmail services.

Its music-oriented features include integrated speakers, dedicated music keys and availability of unlimited music for a year from Ovi Music.

Other key features of the smartphone include: GPRS/EDGE class 32, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3.5 mm audio jack, 200 MB internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB card included).

The slider smartphone sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities (VGA@15fps).

Nokia X5-01 comes with a unique application called 'Surprise me!', that allows users to play random tracks by just spinning their phones. Furthermore, they will be able to create playlists based on their mood or favorite songs, by using the 'Playlist DJ' feature.

The Li-Ion 950 mAh is rated by the manufacturer for 384 hours standby time or 5 hours (3 hours and 30 minutes for 3G) of talk time, as well as 24 hours music playback after a full charge.

Customers can purchase the phone in one of the five different vibrant colors available: Pink, Azure, Graphite Black, Yellow Green or Purple.

The X5-01 is the sequel to the Nokia X5, which was launched in April in China, as the manufacturer's first TD-SCDMA Symbian handset with music-oriented features.
