The dual-SIM version of the phone is available for €90 ($125) outright

Romania is among the first wave of countries to receive the cheapest Android smartphone launched by Nokia, the X. The handset has been officially introduced in Romania and is now available for purchase through all official retail channels.

Although the smartphone has been on sale in Romania for at least one week through multiple online retailers, the Nokia X was slightly overpriced, so those who wanted it earlier had to pay more for the affordable handset.

According to Nokia Romania, the smartphone should be available for only €90 ($125) outright, but the Finnish company has confirmed that it has already signed partnerships with two major carriers in the country for the distribution of the device.

A third carrier is in the cards as well, but no names have been mentioned. However, we can safely assume that the Nokia X will be available via Orange and Vodafone in the next couple of days for prices that will be announced on the day of the release.

We’re almost certain that the smartphone will be available for free on select 2-year agreements at both major Romanian carriers, so if you live in Romania and want to make yourself, or someone you love, a decent present for Easter, you should wait a few more days.

As mentioned in the title, Nokia offers no less than 1 month of free Skype calls to all those who purchase the Nokia X. These free calls can be made to other mobile phone numbers or landlines; they can be national or international, it doesn’t matter.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone will come in several vivid colors, such as bright green, bright red, cyan, yellow, black and white. All these colors will be available in Romania at launch.

In the same piece of news, Nokia Romania has confirmed that the slightly better equipped Nokia XL will go on sale soon as well. Even though no release dates have been mentioned, there’s a high chance that the XL will be available in Romania by the end of this month.

Unlike Nokia X, which packs a 4-inch display, the XL comes with a slightly larger 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, more memory (768MB of RAM), an improved camera (5 megapixels), front-facing camera (2 megapixels) and better battery (2000 mAh).

Nokia announced back in February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 that the XL would be available on the market for €110 ($150) outright, but there are no details on the Romanian price yet. It might go on sale for the same suggested price, or slightly higher. Stay tuned for more updates on this one.
