Caught on video

Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia seems to be hard at work to come to the market with a new rugged handset in the near future. Nothing has been unveiled officially just yet, but it looks like some hard-working guys from the company already put the phone through its paces and filmed it while playing, just to show the world that the device packs a lot of durability.

Actually, this seems to have been more than a walk in the park, since the guys thought of testing the strength of the phone by sending it flying into the air. In order to get it airborne, these people used two different means, namely a rugby boot and a golf club. Since the video camera was there too, the flying phone can be seen in all its splendor.

While not encouraging you to apply the same treatment to a rugged handset that you own, either manufactured by Nokia or by another company, you can still watch the stunts of this particular device in the videos below. According to the guys from Nokia Conversations, this test was supposed to show how the device would perform in the “real world.”

Moreover, it seems that the “rugby boot” and the “golf club” are not the only tests that the handset has been or will be subjected to. The guys over at Nokia Conversations plan to show more during the following days, and we are eager to learn what else the phone will be able to endure. Or for how long.

We should also mention the fact that not all mobile phones are designed to withstand such stress. While some can be used in harsh conditions and have been developed so as to be water, dust, or cold proof, others are more sensitive and will get bricked much faster. Hopefully, Nokia won't be late with the official announcement regarding the availability of this handset.
