Developed together with Monster, they are of the in-ear and over-ear sort, respectively

Nokia may be mostly known for its mobile phones, and all other mobile and mobile-related products, but that doesn't mean it doesn't make other things, like a pair of audio devices.

There are two main sorts of headphones, otherwise known as headsets: the type that cover and the type that go inside the ear, and Nokia created both types.

They are called Purity and Purity HD, the latter, as one might be able to guess from the name alone, being the bigger and badder of the two.

Indeed, the Purity HD is also the larger headset of the pair, featuring an over-ear design and measuring 290 x 40 x 200 mm (11.41 x 1.57 x 7.87 inches).

High-grade speakers are used, as well as an in-line mic and a 1.3-meter cable, plus a 3.5mm jack and control buttons.

Finally, the ear cups are more or less rectangular, with rounded corners, and, all in all, the Purity HD weigh 180 grams.

Meanwhile, the Purity is every bit the in-ear headset one would expect, with a 1.2-meter cable, in-line volume and call controls and the same high-performance speakers as in the HD.

Both newcomers are sold with a carry pouch and the Purity has five sets of ear buds as well.

In other words, the Purity HD will work fine for people who want the feel that their headphones are safely strapped to their head, while the Purity will serve well people who are always on the move and need to take their phone calls while busying their hands with other things.

Unfortunately, even though Nokia's and Monster's new inventions are as official as they could possibly get, they aren't, exactly, available yet.

They shouldn't be too far off, though, and, when they sell, they will be colored black, white, fuchsia or cyan. Alas, no prices were mentioned, though the company did, a least, release a couple of videos.
