New handsets to be unveiled on August 18

It's been almost two months since Nokia last presented a high-end phone, so the Finnish manufacturer has thought that it's time to offer new mobile goodies that users should look forward to. Thus, the Espoo-based is getting ready to unveil two new devices next Monday (August 18).

According to iGadget Life, a set of teasers have been recently sent out, inviting a limited number of people to take part at an online event scheduled for the above-mentioned date. The said event will showcase two unnamed Nokia phones, one week ahead their public presentation (August 25).

Unfortunately, at the moment, there are no details available to let us guess how the new handsets look or what their names are. But if we are to judge by the latest leaked and unannounced yet Nokia phones, the two mysterious devices might be one of the following: Nokia N79, Nokia N85 or Nokia 5800 XpressMusic (also known as Nokia Tube or Nokia 5800 XpressMedia).

The three handsets have appeared together on the Web at the beginning of June. However, only the N85 and N79 came out as completely new handsets, since the Tube had been seen before on several other occasions.

If Nokia officially unveils the N85 and the N79, they will be the third and fourth Nseries smartphones of 2008 (after the N78 and N96). On the other hand, if the 5800 Tube is among the devices mentioned in the teasers, Nokia will finally unveil its first-ever full-touch Symbian handset, believed by many to be the Finnish company's answer to Apple's iPhone.

Of course, Nokia might actually present two other handsets that no one knows about at the moment, which would be even better (since the three mentioned devices will be unveiled anyway, sometime in the future). All in all, it's nevertheless a good thing that Nokia is coming up with fresh products, so let's wait and see whether next Monday will be a big surprise or only a moderate one.
