Nokia has created a teaser site with a countdown set for the 29th of August. One thing is clear: there will be a new mobile phone announcement that day. The remaining question is which one it will be. High chances are that they will bring out Nokia N81.

Rumors on the upcoming release for the N81 phone model have been available for some time now. The handset has been announced for a launch in the fourth quarter of this year, which makes it about due time to actually see it happen.

Nokia N81's specifications present it as a pretty strong competitor for the mobile phones available on the market at this time. In this case, it should not come as a shock to see the leading handset producer go to the trouble of developing a viral marketing campaign for it. Moreover, the web page shows a giant slider phone with similar design features to those of the N81 model.

One of the most impressive performances that this handset seems to have to offer is the 8GB of onboard memory. That feature has managed to bring the iPhone a great amount of popularity, as most people have preferred this version of Apple's phone instead of the 4GB one.

Nokia N81 comes in compact sizes for a slider phone. It has 102 x 50 x 17.9 mm and 140 grams in weight, with a smooth, elegant shape. Its 16 million display screen is capable of providing images at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The mobile phone also includes a 2 megapixel camera, although a more evolved one would have been quite welcomed.

Other specifications also include 3.5 mm headphone jack for listening to music at best quality. There is also WiFi, Bluetooth with A2DP support and 3G in the 2100 MHz band. That sounds great and an official announcement for its release on the 29th of August would make excellent news.
