Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has been expected to unveil to the world a Nokia N97 mini device, and the company decided to go official today with the successor of the high-end Nokia N97. The same as its predecessor, the new handset comes to the market with a tilting touchscreen display and with a QWERTY keyboard, while being considered a “smaller mobile computer.”

The display on the Nokia N97 mini is 3.2 inches in size, and the homescreen can be personalized according to the users' needs, the company says. In addition, the phone is also able to provide a great Internet experience, the same as the Nokia N97. The phone comes to Nokia World, where the maker plans on showcasing lifecasting with Ovi on it, an application that provides direct access to Facebook from the homescreen of a handset.

Jonas Geust, Vice President of Nokia Nseries, stated that “People want to bring their physical and online worlds together via the internet. The Nokia N97 mini is designed for this new social internet and to help navigate people and places. With lifecasting, the Nokia N97 mini and Ovi usher in the next chapter of personal and location-aware Internet.”

Along with the N97 mini, the Espoo-based company announced two new music-oriented devices, the Nokia X6 and X3. The X6 comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display and boasts a 32GB internal memory. According to Nokia, the device can deliver up to 35 hours of music playback, while its 16:9 widescreen display is a great option for viewing photos and videos or for Internet browsing.

In addition, the device also provides fast access to Ovi Store and social networking sites like Facebook. As for Nokia X3, it comes to the market as the first Series 40 device to feature support for the Ovi Store. With a sleek design, the phone packs inside built-in FM radio, stereo speakers and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

“The Nokia X6 and Comes With Music is a powerful combination, enabling music fans to download all the music they could ever want - quickly, easily and for free. We're giving people convenient access to and ownership of a vast music library and an exciting new touchscreen device to play their music on,” Jo Harlow, Vice President, Nokia, commented.

Both the Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 are expected to become available for purchase in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year, while sporting estimated price tags before taxes and subsidies of EUR 450 and EUR 115, respectively. The Nokia N97 mini is expected to reach the market in October with a price tag of EUR 450, before taxes and subsidies.
