The launching of the Nokia N91 phone, which should have been this year's revelation, has been postponed for next year's first quarter.

Announced in June, Nokia N91 is fitted with a 4GB hard drive which can store up to 3,000 songs. For many analysts, this model is one of iPod's main competitors.

The last rumor related to this model showed up in August when a Finnish magazine announced that Nokia N91 might be iTunes compatible, an information infirmed by Nokia's officials.

Motorola Rokr, the first iTunes compatible phone hasn't been too enthusiastically received by analysts and the press, and this might have determined Nokia to postpone its phone. In fact, when asked about Motorola Rokr, Jonas Geust, vice president of music Nokia Multimedia division, said that the model has some limitations, but didn't enlarge upon the subject.

Officially, Nokia said that the reason for delaying it have something to do with the introduction of new features which would ensure that the phone worked on all platforms and played all the popular music formats.
