The Maemo 5-powered Nokia N900 handset is getting closer and closer to its market release, and mobile phone users now have the possibility of reserving one of these beauties before it hits the shelves. The device is available for pre-order on the Finnish mobile phone maker's website in a series of markets around the world, including the UK, the US, Finland, Germany, Italy or Sweden.

Interestingly enough, the price tag for the Nokia N900 seems to vary according to the country users live in. As Engadget points out, the phone is priced at around $860 on the company's German and Italian online stores, yet it features a cost of only $649 at the Nokia USA's official online store. The handset should come to the market in October, as the latest reports pointed out, so those that would like to have a Nokia N900 in their hands have enough time to place their orders.

As many of you might already know, the specifications list of the device has shown that it comes with support for T-Mobile's bands. That doesn't mean that the phone will come to the carrier, as nothing has been announced in this direction, only that it will be used on its network. Some rumors also pointed towards a possible AT&T 3G compatible N900, yet Nokia hasn't announced such a device either.

Until more details on the N900's launch become available, you might want to take a look at a new hands-on video with it that surfaced on the Web courtesy of recombu. For what it's worth, the phone seems to be moving quite nicely, and its Internet browser appears to be fast enough, yet it remains to be seen what users will have to say about it when it comes to the market. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think of this handset.

The Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 also enjoy hands-on videos.
