Nokia N9, the first MeeGo-based mobile phone that the Finnish handset vendor Nokia launched on the market, is expected to hit the market sometime towards the end of the next month, some of the latest rumors on the matter suggested.

Nothing is confirmed on the matter for the time being, but Nokia did say that the smartphone should become available for purchase in the coming months.

One retailer has put the smartphone on its website with a possible release date of August 19th attached to it, and with a price tag of around 500 euros.

The retailer is from Khazakstan, which means that this country might receive the new device on that day, but does not offer info on its release in other markets, in Europe.

At the same time, we should note that reports on the pre-order availability of Nokia N9 in Russia also started to emerge.

The handset can be seen on Nokia's Russian website with the pre-order tag attached to it.

On the said website, users can reportedly read that the handset is set to become available for purchase only via Nokia's branded shops.

Some of the previous rumors on the availability of Nokia N9 suggested that it might be released either in August or in September, and it seems that the former might be the lucky time frame for enthusiasts.

Nokia N9 is the first handset in Nokia's lineup to arrive on the market with the MeeGo platform on board, and is also the first to sport an all-touch design.

The smartphone should hit the market with a 3.9-inch AMOLED screen on the front, and with 16GB or 64GB in storage space packed inside.

The specifications list of this smartphone would also include Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities, along with GSP receiver and support for Nokia Maps.

On the back, the Nokia N9 was packed with an 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss photo snapper that sports auto focus, and which can record videos in HD.
