Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia might be on its way to bring to the market a new Maemo-based handset, the latest reports around the Internet suggest.

The said device is expected to be unveiled no later than tomorrow during Nokia Connection conference in Singapore, just as some of the previous rumors pointed out.

The new mobile phone has made an appearance on the company's Vietnamese website homepage, where the name of Nokia N9 “Lannku” was spotted in the source code.

There are not to many details available on this device to go with, but it seems almost confirmed to arrive on shelves with the Maemo 6 operating system.

Originally, this mobile phone was expected to land with the new MeeGo platform on board, but it seems that Nokia has canceled all plans on this direction.

However, a MeeGo smartphone might still arrive from Nokia, just as the company promised a few months ago.

The Nokia N9 “Lannku” should be an all-touch mobile phone rumor has it. It might not sport the sliding QWERTY keyboard it was previously rumored to arrive on shelves with.

Some of the previously leaked / rumored info on this device suggested that it might be launched with a 4-inch touchscreen display on the front.

It should be released as the successor of Nokia N900, and might be a niche model as well, just as the predecessor was.

Apparently, the Nokia N9 might land on shelves in Vietnam at around $624 if purchased SIM-free and unlocked. Nokia might be set to bring the mobile phone on the market sometime during fall.

Also tomorrow, Nokia is expected to unveil to the world a powerful S 40 device, one that would include a 1GHz application processor inside, but nothing was confirmed on it either.

Apparently, no smartphones running under Symbian or Windows Phones should make an official appearance tomorrow at Nokia Connection.
