Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced recently that its Nokia Messaging service was now available for mobile phone users in Poland on the airwaves of Orange. Starting with November 17, Orange Poland offers access to Nokia's push email service, with support for leading solutions, including Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Ovi Mail, not to mention local networks like Wirtualna Polska, Onet.pl, Interia, o2, home.pl and others.

“User friendly email service available on a broad range of mobile handsets is a great step towards making email a real commodity. From 17 November to 8 December, Nokia Messaging with Orange will be offered free of charge for both the service and related unlimited data traffic. After that period, a fee for the Nokia Messaging service will be only 19.90 zloty + VAT including unlimited email data traffic and additional 50 MB transmission capacity per month for Internet browsing,” Maciej Kociecki, director at PTK Centertel, commented on the new launch.

Nokia Messaging comes towards Orange Poland users as an easy-to-set-up and easy-to-use push email service, offering them the possibility to mobilize a number of up to ten personal email accounts. Moreover, people will also enjoy real-time notifications with Nokia Messaging, as well as the ability to read, send, forward, and reply to emails, view subfolders, download and read attachments directly from their handsets. The push email technology ensures that all messages are sent directly to the phone as soon as they arrive on the server, Nokia also states.

Nokia aims to make mobile email available for as many people as possible. With Nokia Messaging, we can meet the needs of people to access their personal email whenever they want, wherever they want in an extremely simple and convenient way,” Dariusz Zalewski, Services manager, Nokia Poland, stated. The new service is available for free for all users for a period of 30 days. After that, Orange Poland customers can choose to enjoy the service for a monthly charge of 19.90 zloty. The Nokia Messaging service can be activated through the operator's customer service contact, and is currently compatible with a number of more than 30 Nokia devices in the country, with others more expected to arrive within the following weeks.
