Optus is the only carrier that offers the Nokia Lumia 930 in Australia, but Telstra has confirmed it will start selling the device as well beginning August 5.

But those who wish to grab the unlocked version of the Windows Phone 8.1 handset may want to take into consideration Harvey Norman’s offer, as the retailer has just opened pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 930.

Potential customers should know that, while they can pre-order the Nokia Lumia 930 from Harvey Norman starting today, they will not get their devices until late August.

There’s no exact release date for the Nokia Lumia 930 at Harvey Norman, but in order to get one you will have to pay $727 (€508) upfront. It’s also worth mentioning that the Australian retailer offers the orange version of the Lumia 930, which does not seem to be available at any of the major carriers in the country.

Apart from that, there are no differences between the Optus and Telstra versions of the smartphone and the Lumia 930 that will soon be available at Harvey Norman.

Keep in mind that the Nokia Lumia 930 will ship with Windows Phone 8.1 right out of the box, so you won’t have to wait for the update to hit your device.

Last but not least, Harvey Norman offers customers the option to pick up the phone for free from their stores when it becomes available. Otherwise, you will have to pay for shipment.

Nokia Lumia 930 is one of the three smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 at launch that are now available for purchase and is aimed at the high-end segment of the market.

The handset sports a hyper-vibrant 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The Lumia 930 is equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

It also comes packed with 32GB of internal memory, but no microSD card slot for storage expansion. You will get, however, 15GB of free cloud storage via OneDrive.

Another strong point of the Lumia 930 would be the 20-megapixel rear-facing PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording.

The smartphone also features a secondary 1.2-megapixel camera on the front that can capture HD (720) videos and should be enough for video calls and decent selfies.

It’s also worth mentioning that Nokia Lumia 930 is powered by a 2420 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 430 hours of standby time or up to 11.5 hours of talk time.
