Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has officially announced the upcoming Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone, which is set to arrive on shelves starting with June 2013.

The new device comes as the company’s newest flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, though still packing the same specs as the Lumia 920, including a 4.5-inch touchscreen display with a curved glass.

The smartphone is only 8.5mm thin, and weighs 139 grams, which makes it both slimmer and lighter when compared to the Lumia 920.

The main change in design when compared to the previous Lumia handsets, however, is the phone’s aluminum frame, though the new device will still have a polycarbonate rear.

Lumia 925 also comes with wireless charging capabilities, the same as its predecessor, though Nokia made the charging cover slimmer than before, while also making it easily detachable.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The 4.5-inch OLED display on Lumia 925 can deliver a 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, Nokia unveiled.

Furthermore, the smartphone arrives on the market with an 8.7-megapixel PureView camera on the back, along with a 1.2MP front camera for making video calls.

The back photo snapper was designed with dual-LED flash next to it, as well as with Nokia’s Optical Image Stabilization, and with a sixth Lens added to the five plastic lenses available with Lumia 920.

Additionally, Nokia announced a new Smart Camera application, which will arrive in Lumia 925 as the default camera on Windows Phone, which enables users to easily modify photos right after taking them, with action shot, best shot, blur, remove objects, and other features.

The handset also features the usual set of connectivity capabilities, along with the whole set of sensors, and with Nokia’s exclusive apps for Lumia devices.

The Nokia Lumia 925 is set to arrive on the market in June in countries such as the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and China, while being set to arrive in other territories a bit later, US included. The smartphone will feature a price tag of €469 ($616) in Europe.
