The Finnish company refuses to comment on the leak

The following information needs to be filed under the unconfirmed rumors category, as Nokia constantly refuses to comment on rumors and speculations.

Although we already have some pictures with the alleged Nokia Lumia 900 that we thought it to be announced two months ago at Nokia World 2011, the Finnish company has yet to make any official announcements.

Rumors about the illusive Nokia Lumia 900 have come and gone, but only a few of its specs have been ‘confirmed’ until now. Info on the release date or price of the smartphone was scarce as well, but it appears that we’re in luck today.

The folks over at Engadget found several tweets posted by support staff at Swiss carrier Swisscom, which might, or might not, reveal a possible timeframe for Nokia Lumia 900’s launch date.

According to these tweets, Swisscom will be releasing the Nokia Lumia 900 sometime at the end of February, but no exact launch date is given yet.

Obviously, this could be a mistake rather than a leak, which is one of the main reasons the info should be treated lightly.

Even without this piece of information, we can safely assume that Nokia will be announcing its next Windows Phone flagship smartphone in early 2012, possibly at CES or Mobile World Congress.

In the same news, the Nokia Lumia 900 is reportedly delivered with an impressive 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with Nokia’s ClearBlack mobile display technology.

On the inside, the smartphone is thought to be equipped with a 1.4 GHz processor, most likely single core. There’s also an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus, as well as video recording capabilities.

Design-wise, the Lumia 900 should follow the same form factor made popular by the N9. However, rumor has it that the handset might feature a microSIM mechanism that strongly resembles that of the iPhone.
