AT&T launched the Nokia Lumia 900 in Black and Cyan more than a week ago, while the White version has just come live recently.

However, it appears that the Finnish company plans to release an additional colors scheme for the Lumia 900, magenta.

The folks at Pocketnow scooped the first shot of a magenta-themed Lumia 900 more than a week ago, but no confirmation came from Nokia until recently.

Today, Nokia is showing the magenta Lumia 900 for the first time on its official Facebook page, or at least it did so several hours ago. It seems that the company inadvertently added the new color option for the Lumia 900, which is why we think it was hurriedly pulled after a short while.

Still, the guys over at Pocketnow were fast enough to grab a screenshot of the page that showed the magenta version of Lumia 900.

Although Nokia immediately pulled the magenta Lumia 900, rumor has it that AT&T plans to release this new color option of the smartphone sometime next month.

In fact, the handset might be available for purchase beginning May 12, the guys over at Pocketnow claim. Apparently, the carrier is readying the magenta Lumia 900 for a Mother’s Day release, so it won’t be surprising to see AT&T starting to advertise it in the following days.

It appears that Nokia will be releasing several additional color schemes for the Lumia 900 within the next few months, in order to keep the hype up and improve the smartphone’s sales.

For the time being, we don’t have any other details on which colors Nokia will opt for, but we expect at least new green and perhaps yellow colors to be announced by the end of the year.

Keep in mind that the magenta Lumia 900 will be released with the same specs sheet as the color options that are already available on the market.
