The smartphone is expected to arrive in the coming weeks

Earlier this week Nokia unveiled its third Windows Phone device, the Nokia Lumia 900, at the International Consumer Electronics Show. The smartphone was specifically designed for the North American market, claims Nokia.

Initially launched via AT&T, the Lumia 900 might be introduced in Canada as well. However, it’s too early to even think that the first LTE-enabled Windows Phone device might land in Canada in the first half of the year.

Until more details on the Lumia 900 arrival in Canada surface we’ve just got word that TELUS has just put the Nokia Lumia 800 on the ‘Coming Soon’ page.

This is exciting news, though Nokia already announced at CES 2012 that TELUS will be the one to introduce its Lumia 800 in Canada, whereas Rogers is expected to go live with the Lumia 710.

There’s no word on exactly when the Nokia Lumia 800 hits shelves at TELUS, but Rogers is said to release the Lumia 710 sometime in February.

More importantly, TELUS Nokia Lumia 800 will be available in all three colors that were announced by the Finnish company: black, cyan and magenta.

The Nokia Lumia 800 offers the easy-to-use and fully integrated experience of Windows Phone in a stylish and elegant design” claims TELUS.

Apart from design, there are little differences between the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710. The most important ones seem to be the camera and battery.

Nokia Lumia 800 boasts an impressive 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, while the Lumia 710 sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.

TELUS Lumia 800 is powered by a 1.4 GHz single core CPU and an Adreno 205 GPU. It also packs 16GB onboard memory and 512MB of RAM. Obviously, there’s no microSD card slot for memory expansion.
