In the end, early estimations on the sales of Nokia Lumia 800 appear to have been off by a lot, as the handset is reportedly besting various Android devices in sales in the UK.

Nokia Lumia 800 already came to be out of stock at wireless carrier Orange UK, and it seems that other operators are also registering strong sales of the new device.

Vodafone UK, to be more precise, is seeing the Lumia 800 taking off shelves much faster than some other highly popular smartphones out there do.

The new Windows Phone device managed to outsell Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Bold 9900, which is highly popular in the country, as well as the white flavor of Apple’s iPhone 4S.

Moreover, while the black version of the iPhone 4S is topping the new Nokia device, handsets like HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II fall beneath it when it comes to sale volumes, it seems.

At least when Vodafone UK is considered, the Nokia Lumia 800 appears to be a great selling device, which will certainly prove of great help for the phone’s evolution.

According to a recent article on WMPoweruser, KPN in the Netherlands also confirms that the new Nokia Lumia device is among the most popular handsets on its network.

Apparently, the Apple iPhone 4S is the only smartphone that tops the new Windows Phone in popularity these days.

Considering the fact that Nokia has had the Lumia 800 available in only a small number of markets around the world for the time being, we should see an increase in sales as soon as the phone is launched in additional countries in early 2012.

Nokia does need to make the Lumia 800 successful, as it represents the foundation for the company’s future, all of which is dominated by Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. Future devices might be even more appealing, that’s for sure.
