O2 UK is the latest wireless carrier in the country to have the new Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone available for its customers.

The carrier has just started selling the mobile phone, several weeks after other carriers made a similar move, with great success, in fact.

Starting today, US users interested in the purchase of Lumia 800 with a contract agreement with O2 will be able to do so while having the device available for them from free to £199.99 ($312 or 233 Euros).

The new Windows Phone can already be seen on O2’s website. Users will be able to select the device with either 18-month or 24-month contract agreements.

As noted, the Nokia Lumia 800 already proved successful in the UK, and is expected to attract even more people on its side, especially now that Nokia has started to deliver a software update for it.

The device comes with a 3.7-inch screen and a 1.4GHz application processor packed inside, while featuring 16GB of internal memory.

The handset is powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system and offers support for various services that the Redmond-based company has put in place for it.

It can deliver fast browsing courtesy of Internet Explorer 9, along with voice-guided navigation with Nokia Drive, as well as social networking capabilities by keeping users connected with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

“Prepare to be amazed by the Nokia Lumia 800. With a curved glass 3.7" touchscreen, and running Windows Phone 7.5, the Nokia Lumia 800 packs a real punch and has the style to match. Keep your mates close with People Hub,” O2 explains.

“Get instant Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email and Chat updates in one. Take amazing pictures with an 8 Megapixel camera and HD video and explore a world of entertainment with the best apps, latest tunes or Xbox games to download.”
