Unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress 2013, in Barcelona, Spain, Nokia Lumia 720 has just been recently spotted in Germany.

The smartphone is available for pre-order for €380/$495, but there’s no telling when it will arrive in Germany. The good news is Windows Phone enthusiasts in the United States will be able to grab the Lumia 720 as well.

Engadget reports that Nokia Lumia 720 has just received FCC’s (Federal Communication Commission) approval and is likely to be introduced to the US in the coming weeks.

The bad news is the device does not feature LTE support that is becoming mandatory in the US. On the bright side, Lumia 720 seems to be fully compatible with AT&T HSPA+ network, which means Nokia might release the device through this carrier.

Given the fact that we don’t have any additional info on the upcoming release of the Lumia 720, we must assume there will be more than one US-based carrier to offer the smartphone. We will keep an eye out for this one, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

Hardware-wise, Nokia Lumia 720 is a pretty decent smartphone and a great Windows Phone 8 handset. It comes equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone packs 8GB of ROM inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot. An additional 7GB of free cloud storage are also provided via SkyDrive.

The Lumia 720 sports a 4.3-inch IPS LCD ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and feature Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Another selling point of the phone would be the 6.7-inch rear camera that features Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording. A secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera is available as well.
