Rogers is the first Canadian carrier to debut a Windows Phone device manufactured by Nokia. However, the operator confirmed numerous times that Nokia Lumia 710 sales would commence in the week starting on February 6.

The good news is that Rogers decided to make the Lumia 710 available several days earlier than expected. The folks at MobileSyrup have just received a note from Nokia Canada confirming that the Lumia 710 is indeed available for purchase.

Although the carrier has yet to list the smartphone on its website, several Rogers stores have already started selling the Lumia 710. The smartphone is available for as low as $49.99 (38 EUR) with a new three-year agreement.

Customers who want to avoid being tied by a long-term contract will have to pay $254.99 (195 EUR) upfront. Additional pricing options include the following offerings: $99.99 (75 EUR) with a new two-year contract, $149.99 (115 EUR) on a one-year term.

Rogers plans to launch the Lumia 900 as well. However, rumor has it that the smartphone will only be available in Canada in May.

Until then, Windows Phone fans can grab the Lumia 710, which will probably go much cheaper by the time Nokia intros the Lumia 900 in the country.

The most affordable Nokia Windows Phone device, Lumia 710 features an excellent 3.7-inch Nokia ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen with support for 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

The phone is powered by a single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.

On the inside, the smartphone embeds 8GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM. There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash.

Rogers offers only the Nokia Lumia 710 in black, but additional color schemes may be introduced within the following weeks.
