Today, Microsoft has officially announced the availability of Nokia Lumia 630 in the UK starting May 29 and has also unveiled that the smartphone will retail for no more than £89.95 ($151/€110) in the country.

The price tag is lower than what Nokia initially announced for the smartphone and also looks like a bargain when compared to what online retailer Unlocked Mobiles is asking for it at the moment.

Lumia 630 is the very first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone to have landed on shelves this year, though others will follow shortly, including the Nokia Lumia 930, which was made official in early April, at the BUILD conference.

Starting next week, users in the UK will be able to grab the mobile phone via Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Tesco and Amazon. The handset will be released in orange, bright yellow, bright green, white and black.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Nokia Lumia 630 was made official with a 4.5-inch ClearBack touchscreen display, which is said to be able of offering great viewing angles and visibility at all times.

The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, complemented by 512MB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory. Moreover, the mobile phone sports a memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

On the back, Nokia Lumia 630 packs a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording videos in HD resolution, but it does not include a front camera.

The Windows Phone 8.1 device is powered by an 1830mAh battery, which will provide users with long usage times. The phone also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a built-in GPS receiver.

At the same time, the handset comes with the Microsoft Enterprise feature pack loaded on top, which includes Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Camera, and HERE Maps and Drive+, which enable users to enjoy a great experience when it comes to both work and leisure.

“The Nokia Lumia 630 offers great apps and high end technology which all run seamlessly under the beautiful Windows phone 8.1 interface,” Conor Pierce, VP of Microsoft Devices for the UK & Ireland stated, according to MyNokiaBlog.

“This is a great product for our customers, providing a premium experience at an affordable price point. In our opinion, this is the best smartphone in its price range on the market today.”

Nokia Lumia 630 was launched with a matte polycarbonate design and also comes to the market with changeable shells, which provide users with additional personalization capabilities on their smartphones.
