Nokia Lumia 625 is one of the newest budget-friendly Windows Phone handsets launched by the Finnish company. The smartphone was unveiled last summer in July and made it to market one month later.

However, it appears that not all major carriers added the Lumia 625 to their portfolios and even if the phone may be considered old for another release, Irish operator Three plans on selling the smartphone.

The device was previously tipped for the week 14 and it looks like the information was accurate as Three Ireland has just released the Lumia 625.

Potential customers can now pick this one up for €230 ($320) on prepaid or free on select 24-month plans starting at €30.5 ($42) monthly.

Although not as popular as Nokia’s cheapest Windows Phone handset, the Lumia 520, Nokia Lumia 625 is definitely a solid choice for fans of Microsoft’s mobile platform.

Unfortunately, Three’s decision to bring the Lumia 625 in Ireland only a month ahead of Nokia Lumia 630’s alleged launch is a bit odd. With Microsoft announcing the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system in early April, Nokia is expected to bring new smartphones that will be powered by the new platform.

Nokia Lumia 630 is the successor of the Lumia 625 and is expected to be officially unveiled on or around April 19. Customers in Ireland might be better off waiting one more month for the WP 8.1-based smartphone than grabbing the Lumia 625.

Still, we can’t be sure that the unannounced Nokia Lumia 630 (or Lumia 635) will be released at Three Ireland next month, so this is a risk that Windows Phone fans must take if they want to own a newer device.

Anyway, Nokia Lumia 625 is as good as it gets for the price asked. It’s got a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

In addition, it comes equipped with a decent enough dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit.

The only downside of the Lumia 625 is the fact that it packs only 512MB of RAM, which means that some of the features included in the Lumia Black update will not work on this device.

In addition, some more power-hungry apps and services will not have all their features available to Nokia Lumia 625 users. For more details on the smartphone’s features and capabilities, make sure you check out our database for Nokia Lumia 625 full specs sheet.
