The smartphone was initially priced at $150 (€110) outright

Good news for Windows Phone fans, as the latest smartphone launched by Nokia, the Lumia 525 is now cheaper than ever. Although the device was released only two days ago in China, Nokia Lumia 525 has already seen an important discount which brings its price to only $100 (€75).

Considering the smartphone was initially available for purchase in the Mainland for $150 (€110), the new price is quite a deal for those who prefer Microsoft’s Windows Phone over other mobile platforms.

According to NokiaPowerUser, Amazon China and TMall are the first major retailers to offer major discounts on Nokia Lumia 525, but others may follow soon.

It’s also interesting to mention the Lumia 525 is now selling at a lower price than its predecessor Nokia Lumia 520, which was released back in April.

This makes us believe Nokia wants to get rid of the new device as quick as possible and the only way to do that is to lower the price even more.

Nokia’s marketing is a bit odd if we take into consideration the fact that Lumia 525 has slightly better features than the Lumia 520. The former comes with 1GB of RAM, while the latter packs only 512MB RAM inside.

That’s why Lumia 520 is not fully compatible with many popular Windows Phone applications and the main reason Nokia decided to correct the problem by launching another budget-friendly smartphone.

The Finnish company is expected to announce new Lumia smartphones next year at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade fairs.

In the same piece of news, the recently introduced Nokia Lumia 1320 has been discounted as well. The phablet was initially available in China for 2,500 yuan ($410 / €300) off contract, but now T-Mall offers it for only 2,200 yuan ($360 / €265).
