Nokia Lumia 525 was certified in China less than two weeks ago and some of its specs leaked at that time, but no details on release and pricing emerged.

Today, Nokia has listed the Lumia 525 on its official website and has confirmed that it will be available in select countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Although there are no details on the phone’s price tag yet, we can safely assume that it will be in the same range as Lumia 520.

In fact, it might go on sale for the same price given the fact that it comes packed with similar features with one exception.

Those unfamiliar with Nokia Lumia 525 should know that the smartphone comes with 1GB of RAM, as opposed to Lumia 520 that features only 512MB of RAM.

This means that users will be able to take advantage of the latest Windows Phone applications without have to wait for developers to make them available for their low memory devices. Aside from that, there are no differences between the Lumia 520 and its 525 successor.

Nokia Lumia 525 has been confirmed to sport a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 235ppi (pixel density).

Hardware-wise, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1GHz. As we have mentioned earlier, it packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

When it comes to connectivity, the Lumia 525 looks pretty decent. It offers 3G and Wi-Fi, along with Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.

There’s also a 5-megapixel main camera on the back with autofocus and video recording. Sadly, the photo snapper lacks LED flash.

Nokia also mentions that Lumia 525 is powered by an 1430 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 14 days of standby time or up to 17 hours of talk time (10 hours in 3G mode). Stay tuned for more details on Lumia 525’s availability and pricing.

[UPDATE]: The Verge reports Nokia Lumia 525 will be launched in Singapore on December 14 for $200 (€145) outright.
