Today, Nokia has finally confirmed the availability of its Nokia Lumia 525 smartphone on the market in India, unveiling plans to put it up for sale before the end of this week.

The mobile phone will arrive on shelves with a price tag of Rs. 10,399 ($167/€122) attached to it, and will be released in a variety of color options, including Glossy Orange, White, and Yellow, as well as Matte Black.

Nokia has announced this smartphone back in November as the successor of its highly popular Lumia 520, the cheapest device to ever run under Windows Phone 8.

The new Lumia 525 is also cheap, though its specs and capabilities determined Nokia to price it a bit higher than its predecessor.

Nokia Lumia 525 arrives on the market with a 4-inch IPS touchscreen display that can deliver an 800 x 480 pixels resolution at a 235 ppi pixel density, as fonearena reports.

Moreover, the handset is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor (MSM8227), paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB RAM.

Nokia also included 8GB of internal memory with the Lumia 525, as well as a microSD memory card slot, allowing users to add up to 64GB of external storage space to it. On the back, the new device features a 5-megapixel camera with support for 720p video recording.

The specs list of the new handset also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, support for 3G networks, and built-in GPS receiver, with aGPS.

Nokia Lumia 525 is only 9.9 mm thick, weighs 124 grams, and is powered by a 1430mAh battery. The handset runs under the Windows Phone 8 platform, with the Lumia Black software.

As mentioned above, users in India will be able to grab the new mobile phone starting with this week. Nokia has announced plans to make the Lumia 525 available all around the country.
