Yesterday, Nokia officially announced the availability of the Nokia Lumia 525 smartphone in India, and the handset can already be purchased in the country, it seems.

The device can be seen listed on the Nokia Shop as up for grabs with a price tag of Rs. 10,399 ($167/€122) attached to it. The handset is in stock at the moment, and those interested in purchasing it should hurry and place an order.

The smartphone has landed on shelves in the country in four color versions, namely Black, Orange, White, and Yellow.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Lumia 525 arrives as the successor of Lumia 520, only that it packs enhanced hardware capabilities, so as to deliver a far better experience to all users.

The smartphone features a 4-inch screen capable of delivering an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, while being powered by a 1.0 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor.

The specs list of this smartphone also includes 1GB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of external storage space.

Moreover, Nokia Lumia 525 comes with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, with support for 720p video recording, as well as with a VGA front camera.

Measuring 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm and weighing 124 grams, the handset is powered by a BL-5J 1430mAh battery that can deliver up to 10.6 hours of talk time on 3G networks, or up to 14 days of standby time.

Other features of the mobile phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, Micro USB 2.0 High-Speed port, and the usual set of sensors.

Nokia Lumia 525 runs under Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system, and it also sports a series of exclusive applications that Nokia has pre-loaded on it. The phone might not be as cheap as the Lumia 520, but it is certainly a great alternative to it.
