14 DAY TRIAL // Major carriers Vodafone and O2 have confirmed that they will bring the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 in Germany very soon.
Both smartphones have been listed at Amazon Germany for quite some time, but no carrier has announced that it offers the Windows Phone 8 handsets until recently.
According to WMPoweruser, Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are now listed as “Coming Soon” at Vodafone and O2, but not additional details are available yet.
There’s no info on the phones’ price tags either, though we can expect both Windows Phone 8 handsets to be available for free on select plans. The only thing revealed by the carriers is the fact that Lumia 520 should go on sale from mid-April.
Several retailers across the country have already priced the Lumia 520 at €170/$220 and the Lumia 720 at €330/$430 outright, but we’re not sure that these will be the final price tags for the smartphones at O2 and Vodafone.
The cheapest Windows Phone 8 available on the market, Nokia Lumia 520 is already available in the UK and India. The Lumia 720 is likely to make its debut on the market in the coming days, but at least one carrier in the UK already sells it (O2).
The Lumia 520 comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features scratch-resistant glass.
In comparison, Lumia 720 features a slightly larger 4.3-inch IPS ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display with the same resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
Both smartphones are equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.
Last but not least, Nokia Lumia 520 sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording, while the Lumia 720 comes packed with a 6.7-inch main camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED flash and HD (720) video recording.
