The cheapest Windows Phone 8 launched by Nokia has just landed in the United States. The Lumia 520 has been officially unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2013, along with Nokia Lumia 720, and is already available in several countries.

As WMPoweruser points out, customers in the United States can now purchase the Lumia 520 for only $225//€170 via Expansys. Check it out here.

The unlocked Nokia Lumia 520 is available in black, white, yellow, red and cyan colors, but only black and white versions are now in stock.

However, those who wish to order the yellow, red and cyan Lumia 520 should know that Expanys states that the smartphones will arrive in 5-10 days.

A carrier-branded Lumia 520 will be available in the United States via T-Mobile. The smartphone has already been confirmed as Nokia Lumia 521 and is likely to go on sale next month.

Obviously, Nokia Lumia 520 is a bit overpriced at Expansys due to the fact that this is one of the few (if not the only one) US-based retailers to offer the smartphone.

Nokia Lumia 520 has been recently launched in India, where customers can purchase it for only $190/€145 outright.

We expect Windows Phone fans in the US to be able to get it a bit cheaper than at Expansys, but that won’t happen until closer to the official launch.

The Lumia 520 will ship with the latest version of Windows Phone 8 platform onboard and a 1GHz dual-core processor inside.

The smartphone packs an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

It also sports a more than decent 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording. Sadly, the main camera lacks LED flash. More details on the phone’s specs are available here.
