The phablet may arrive at the US-based carrier in cyan color as well

Nokia Lumia 1520 is already available for purchase in the United States in black, white, yellow and red, but it looks like the Finnish company plans to bring additional colors to Windows Phone fans.

We reported less than a week ago that Nokia posted on its official Facebook account a picture showing the Lumia 1520 in multiple colors. Fans of the brand have immediately spotted two colors that are not yet available for the Lumia 1520, green and cyan.

These new colors should have been announced earlier this week at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, but Nokia did not launch any new Windows Phone devices. Instead, it preferred to go all Android.

The reason that Nokia did not unveil the Nokia Lumia 1520 in green and cyan may have something to do with the Windows Phone 8.1 reveal happening in early April.

According to famous leaker @evleaks, Nokia Lumia 1520 in green will arrive at AT&T when it re-launches with Windows Phone 8.1 onboard.

This does make sense if Nokia and Microsoft want to have new devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 immediately after the new operating system goes official.

It would have taken more time for both companies to come up with a completely new device in such a short time, which is why we did not see any new Lumia handset announced at MWC 2014.

In fact, no Windows Phone device was announced at the trade fair, which means that all handset makers are now waiting for Microsoft to announce the new OS, so they can launch their devices with Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box.

AT&T customers may be the first to experience the new features of the Windows Phone 8.1 if Nokia Lumia 1520 arrives in April / May.

Microsoft is expected to deliver the Windows Phone 8.1 update to the general public later this summer, but the information has yet to be confirmed. If this proves accurate, then Lumia 1520 in green would be one of the few devices to ship with Windows Phone 8.1 onboard.

In the same piece of news, it’s worth mentioning that Nokia may also launch a cyan version of Lumia 1520, though @evleaks did not say anything about it.

As we have stated earlier, the picture revealing the phablet in multiple colors also contains the cyan Lumia 1520, which makes us believe that this will be another Windows Phone 8.1-powered handset set for release in April / May.
