Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 smartphones in India, and it should make them official as soon as the next week, on December 16.

The handset vendor is planning a press conference for that day in New Delhi, and the two devices are expected to be in the spotlight there.

As fonearena notes, the invitations that Nokia sent out for the event clearly suggest that the two handsets will be released in the country, as both of them feature large displays.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 arrives on the market with a 6-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a full HD resolution, while being powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

The handset also features 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

At the same time, the phone packs a 20-megapixel PureView camera on the back, with support for full HD video recording. It also sports a front camera for video chatting while on the go.

Nokia Lumia 1520 also features 4G LTE connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. Moreover, it includes NFC functionality, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

Lumia 1320, on the other hand, comes with a bit lower specs, though it also has a 6-inch touchscreen display (of only 1280 x 720 pixels resolution).

The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and sports a 5-megapixel camera on the back, along with Gorilla Glass 3 coating to protect its large screen.

Nokia’s Windows Phone devices are already highly popular among mobile phone users in India, and the release of these new smartphones should help the company gain some more market share. Stay tuned for specific details on the availability and pricing of Lumia 1520 and 1320 in the country.
