Nokia prepares the launch of its Lumia 1520 phablet in the UK and other European countries, which is set for early December, but the smartphone will arrive in other regions much sooner.

Digitimes reports Nokia Taiwan confirmed the Lumia 1520 will be available in the country beginning November 30 through major carrier Chunghwa Telecom.

Customers will be able to purchase the smartphone starting late November for NT$21,900 ($741 / €545) off contract. Chunghwa Telecom will also offer the Nokia Lumia 1520 for as low as NT$7,990 ($270 / €200) at a fixed monthly rate of NT$1,343 ($45 / €34).

Nokia Taiwan also claims its market share for smartphones rose to 5.6% in October putting the Finnish handset maker on fifth position after Samsung, Sony, HTC and Apple.

The Lumia 1520 is the sixth Windows Phone handset launched by Nokia in Taiwan since July 2013. Windows Phone fans in Taiwan have a wide range of devices at their disposal, such as Lumia 625, 820, 920, 925 and 1020.

The new Windows Phone flagship smartphone launched by Nokia, Lumia 1520 is the largest in the Lumia series. It boasts a huge 6-inch IPC LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The Lumia 1520 provides 32GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the phablet is the impressive 20-megapixel rear-facing PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics, OIS (optical image stabilization), dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Last but not least it, the phone drains energy from a high-capacity 3,400 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 768 hours of standby time or up to 28 hours of talk time.
