14 DAY TRIAL // The next Lumia smartphones to be released in India have just been confirmed for a January 7 launch. Nokia Lumia 525 and Lumia 1320 are the next Windows Phone handsets that will make their debut in India tomorrow.
WPCentral reports that Nokia has already sent invitations to a press event where attendees will witness the unveiling of “The new chapter of Nokia Lumia story.”
Although the invitation doesn’t explicitly say that the Nokia Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525 will be showcased, there have been lots of information leaked over the last couple of weeks that indicate that both smartphones will be launched in India tomorrow.
Nokia Lumia 525 made its debut in Indonesia and Vietnam last month, but the smartphone is expected to arrive in additional emerging markets, including India.
The other smartphone to be released tomorrow, Nokia Lumia 1320, is the lighter version of the Lumia 1520 phablet, the biggest smartphone launched by the Finnish company.
The Lumia 1320 will ship with the latest version of Windows Phone 8 Black onboard, along with a decent enough 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
The phablet boasts a huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.
It doesn’t come with dual-SIM support, but users will be able to take advantage of LTE connectivity when in coverage range. The Lumia 1320 also packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as secondary VGA camera for video calls.
On the inside, the phablet is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card.
The budget-friendly Lumia 525 comes with the same specs as the popular Lumia 520 with one exception: it packs 1GB of RAM instead of 512MB. For more details on the smartphone’s features, check out our database for Nokia Lumia 525 full specs.
[UPDATE]: WMPoweruser reports Nokia Lumia 525 will be available in India for Rs 11,499 ($185/€135), while the Lumia 1320 will cost around Rs 25,500 ($410/€300).
