Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone in the country will be able to grab it with O2 contracts starting this September, the carrier has confirmed.

In fact, the wireless operator has already added the device to its coming soon website, with a September release timeframe, but with no further details on the matter.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 will become available for purchase at O2 UK in two color flavors, namely Black and Yellow, and users interested in it can already head over to this page on the carrier’s website to register for it.

The mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone also features 32GB of internal memory, along with 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS receiver, a front camera, and the usual set of sensors.

However, the main selling point of the new Windows Phone 8 smartphone is its 41-megapixel photo snapper, which packs full HD video recording, Optical Image Stabilization, optical zoom and a great deal of other high-end capabilities.

“With a 41 megapixel camera sensor and Nokia Pro Camera you can take high-quality pictures easily. Adjust shutter speed, focus and more with easy to use controls. Know nothing about cameras? Your Nokia 1020 comes with tutorial videos that show you how to take great shots,” O2 explains.

“With the 1020 you'll shoot your pictures in super-high resolution so you can zoom in as close as you want - without them becoming blurry or pixelated. Then just rotate, reframe and crop new versions as many times as you want.”

The Windows Phone 8 device also comes with a variety of pre-loaded Nokia applications, including the HERE maps and navigation suite, as well as Nokia Music and more.

“With Nokia Music pre-loaded on your 1020, you can choose from over 22 million songs to stream for free. You'll also get free voice-guided navigation for when you're out and about,” O2 notes.
