When it comes to AT&T releasing the Nokia E71x on its airwaves, yet another rumor about the launch date adds to the already long line of reports in this regard. The latest news on the web points towards May 4 as the day for the mobile phone to hit the market, yet nothing has been confirmed so far, and we might see the handset delayed once again, as it was a few times before.

The wireless carrier stated clearly that the E71x would be added to its lineup, yet no official release date is known for now, as the launch was postponed for several weeks at the end of March. From what we learn this time, only two weeks should pass before the handset becomes available, as some info leaked from the company shows.

The Nokia E71x was supposed to be launched about a month ago, yet it seems that technical problems determined the carrier to set it back and announce that the phone would hit the shelves “in the coming weeks.” Hopefully, the device will become available on May 4, as it already sells both unlocked and with some operators in the country.

According to the leaked info, AT&T will also have the phone at a lower price than originally expected, so those willing to purchase it will pay $100 upon the signing of a contract agreement and after mail-in rebate.

What the QWERTY smartphone offers users includes the Symbian S60 as its operating system, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, aGPS, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, support for AT&T's Video Share service, as well as a wide range of third-party applications, including AT&T Navigator. The main features of the device are focused on messaging, as it allows users to keep in touch with both their personal and corporate email while on the move.
