Nokia Romania has just announced, during an informal meeting, that the highly-anticipated Nokia E7 Symbian smartphone will be available in the country starting April 15th.

Potential customers will be able to purchase the E7 from authorized retailers for about USD 750, unlocked.

According to Nokia, the E7 is the rightful successor of the Communicator line of smartphones, which has been discontinued due to technological advancement that requires phones to offer users an all-in-one multimedia and business experience.

One of the most expected high-end smartphones from the Finnish manufacturer’s portfolio, the Nokia E7 comes with a large 4-inch ClearBlack display and runs on the Symbian^3 mobile platform.

The phone has a side-slide form factor and features a full QWERTY keyboard, so users can enjoy advanced input options. However, from what I've noticed at the event, the phone's sliding mechanism is extremely rigid, which makes it very hard to slide out.

The 4-row QWERTY keyboard has medium sized buttons, which are nicely arranged with enough space in between for almost any thumb size. Texting is a real pleasure, as the keys are very responsive and easy to reach no matter how long your fingers are.

The phone's stylish design is based on N8's look, including the material used for the chassis (anodized aluminum). In fact, if not for the slightly thicker size and bigger screen, the E7 can easily be mistaken as an N8 device, when it's not slid out.

As Nokia suggests, the E7 is a complete business tool, which offers users secure and real-time access to email, calendar, contacts, tasks and the corporate directory through Microsoft Exchange servers.

The QuickOffice package is also included and doesn't require users to upgrade it to be able to create new documents.

Among the phone's strong points one can notice the superior 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, WiFi and HSDPA connectivity capabilities, as well as the ARM 11 680 MHz processor (with 3D Graphics HW accelerator).
