Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is getting ready for the launch of some new devices powered by the Symbian^3 platform, and the Nokia E6-00 should be among them. The handset emerged in a xml file over at Nokia.com, which offers a wide range of info on the hardware specifications that this handset would sport.

Among the pieces of info that can be extracted from there, we can count the fact that the upcoming mobile phone would include a display of 640 x 480 resolution, higher than what some of the latest devices from the company packed, namely nHD 640 x 360 displays.

However, this is not the only detail on the forthcoming E6-00 that the said Nokia user agent file, spotted by the guys over at MyNokiaBlog, unveiled.

The new device should also boast GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSDPA connectivity, as well as WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities. The Nokia E6-00 should include an ARM CPU inside.

The platform version on this handset would be Symbian 5.2, which should be Symbian^3, it seems, especially since it would include Browser 7.3, which is, supposedly, the browser for this platform version.

The handset would also include a QWERTY keyboard with 2 softkeys, and might offer touch capabilities as well, which suggests that this is either a slider, or a new Touch and Type handset from the company.

According to an early December post on cellphonezones, the Nokia E6-00 should come with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and 720P HD video recording, a 2.8-inch display, and a 680MHz ARM11 processor.

Moreover, some photos spotted only recently on Picasa point at the E6-00 too. Apparently, the EXIF data confirms the 8 megapixel EDoF camera with flash (similar to the one on the Nokia C6-01 and Nokia E7, Engadget notes).

This is not the first time the Nokia E6-00 makes it to the headlines, but, since more details on it were made available, we might start to hope that an official announcement on it might not be too far in the future.
