Popular or not, it looks like Nokia Drop Beta trial has been concluded. Developers of the application have just announced that Nokia Drop for Symbian 1 and 3 will be discontinued.

This means that there will be no updates or new releases in the future for Symbian smartphone users, so they might want to try and find other alternatives.

Nokia Drop team announced a few days ago that the latest version of the application brought Nokia Belle support, and today the developers have announced that they will drop support for previous iterations of Symbian operating system, effective immediately.

Nokia Drop is not going to continue Symbian 1 and 3 releases anymore. There will be no new releases available and that´s why I want to thank you all Beta users who have given a lot of good ideas, bug reports and reviews about Nokia Drop during this interesting journey. So be active with other Beta Labs applications and all the best to the future,” Nokia Drop team.

The decision makes sense given the fact that Nokia’s devs are now focusing on Windows Phone platform, whereas Nokia Drop was specifically designed for Symbian users.

Due to the fact that Nokia does not support previous versions of Symbian anymore, it will be weird to continue to offer new apps for these iterations.

In the same piece of news, the Beta Labs also announced that the Nokia Software Updater for Mac trial concluded as well, which means there won’t be any other new releases for this application in the future.

The time has come to conclude the Nokia Software Updater for Mac trial. We have got very valuable feedback from this trial in the past 1½ years and would like to thank all of you who have participated in it.

Although development on the Mac version is not continuing, the application will continue to work and we will leave the installer in place as well,” Nokia Beta Labs.
