Nokia Diagnostics is an experimental application released by the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs several weeks ago for users of a Nokia phone powered by the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system so that they can diagnose, troubleshoot, and configure devices on their own. This time around, the developing team announced that the software solution's capabilities have been expanded so as to enable users of S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 device to enjoy the same features.

“Today we are happy to announce the release of Nokia Diagnostics for S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 devices. The application is essentially the same as the touch version but now works with a lot more Symbian devices. We do recommend you to check that your device is running the latest software before trying it out since some older device software versions can potentially cause undesirable behavior,” a recent post on Nokia Beta Labs Blog notes.

As with the initial release, the application is still in a beta flavor, though it includes a nice range of capabilities for users. Among them, we can count a Network Coverage test, through which one can get network related info, an Internet Connectivity test so that users can check on the connection's settings that can provide them with a seamless experience, or the Battery Charger test, so that one can check whether the handset charges as it should with the charger connected. Not to mention that there is also a Loudspeaker, Earpiece test included in the app, to verify their functionality.

According to the developing team, the beta version of the application has been tested on a wide range of handsets, including: “Nokia 5320 XpressMusic, Nokia 5630 XpressMusic, Nokia 5730 XpressMusic,Nokia 6210 Navigator, Nokia 6220 classic, Nokia 6650 fold, Nokia 6700 slide,Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia 6720 classic, Nokia 6730 classic,Nokia 6760 slide, Nokia 6788, Nokia 6790 slide, Nokia 6790 Surge,Nokia C5-00, Nokia E52, Nokia E55, Nokia E71x, Nokia E72, Nokia E75,Nokia N78, Nokia N79, Nokia N85, Nokia N86 8MP, Nokia N96, and Nokia N96-3.”
