Subdomains dedicated to media representatives seem to be more vulnerable

The world-renowned phone manufacturer Nokia was recently targeted by hackers who managed to gain access to one of their subdomains hosted on the Australian site, defacing it.

According to The Hacker News, the hacker aldyfrt didn’t mention anything about his reasons for defacing the site, which probably means that he just wanted to show the site was insecure.

Judging by the mirror of the defacement posted on Zone-H, the Indonesian hacker obtained access to the domain dedicated to members of the press, which reminds us of the T-Mobile hack performed by members of the hacktivits collective TeaMp0isoN.

They targeted the exact same section of T-Mobile’s website which means that the webpages dedicated to the press have the tendency to contain vulnerabilities, fact which should act as a warning sign for website developers.

They should focus their attention towards these pages when developing the site, or on occasions when they update its security.
