Nokia Asha 300 and X2-02 have been officially introduced in India two weeks ago, but the Finnish company did not state exactly when the handsets might be available on the market.

It looks like Nokia India needed more than two weeks to debut the Asha 300, which is now available for purchase at Flipkart for only Rs 6,835 (140 USD or 105 EUR).

This comes as a nice surprise, as Nokia initially announced that the Asha 300 would hit shelves for a suggested retail price of Rs 7,409 (150 USD or 115 EUR).

Even though the Asha 300 is not a smartphone, it offers users the dual advantage of a touchscreen phone and a physical alphanumeric keypad packed in a stylish chassis.

The phone runs Nokia S40 advanced user interface and packs a powerful 1GHz single core processor, which is more than enough to run any third party application installed on the phone.

Although Flipkart only offers the graphite and red versions of the handset, Nokia has the phone available in more color schemes, including Night Shade, Gold, White Silver and Pink.

It is also worth mentioning that Nokia Asha 300 in Red is already out of stock at Flipkart, so customers who desperately want to purchase this one as soon as possible will have to grab the Graphite version.

Other highlights of the feature-phone include: 5-megapixel camera with fixed focus and video recording, 140MB of internal memory, 256MB of ROM, 128MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Nokia Asha 300 sports a small 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors. HSDPA and Bluetooth support is included as well, along with high speed microUSB with on-the-go support.

The phone’s 1110 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 550 hours of standby time (600 hours in 3G mode) or up to 7 hours of talk time (4 hours in 3G mode).
