The older Nokia 8801 handset is now officially available in the US through the mobile phone carrier T-Mobile. Although the phone is priced high, at $549, the handset's specifications are not so impressive.

Encased in a stainless steel body, the phone features an elegant and stylish design.

The Nokia 8801 has a scratch resistant display and a low resolution VGA 800 x 600 camera with video capture capabilities. The storage space consists of 64 MB of internal memory. An MP3 player is included, as well as an FM radio. The phone supports Bluetooth connectivity and allows the usage of wireless headsets.

Nokia 8801 can be used to connect to the Internet using GPRS or EDGE for faster data transfers. Users can communicate using AOL, Yahoo!, MSN and ICQ instant messengers. Other features include voice recorder, voice dial, picture caller ID, picture and text messaging.

The phone operates in 850/1800/1900 MHz networks and can be purchased online on T-Mobile's site.
