A series of one-second ads hints to the upcoming Nokia SeaRay

For those who live in the UK, the following won't come as a surprise, as Nokia has already started to tease one of its upcoming Windows Phone smartphones via several TV channels in the country.

This seems to be the first time that Nokia hints to one of its new products ahead of the official announcement by launching a series of very short clips that run between other TV adverts.

In fact, this seems to be a teaser which was split in very short (1-second) clips to make it harder to spot, especially for those who are changing the channel during commercials.

According to the folks over at MyNokiaBlog, these Nokia 800 adverts have started to appear since October 22 and they even managed to put together some of the short clips that appear on different TV channels in the UK.

Even though no name appears in these short clips, the phone in question is definitely the Nokia 800, also known as SeaRay.

It's the same device that emerged in press shots leaked last week. The phone strongly resembles the recently launched Nokia N9 MeeGo smartphone.

Although the teaser was split in small pieces, one can easily notice the “tiles” background of all these ads, which points to Windows Phone's disco/metro user interface.

With only three days until Nokia World conference starts in London, the Nokia SeaRay is officially confirmed by this series of ads.

However, it is unclear if the Finnish handset manufacturer will be able to launch the Nokia 800 on the market by the end of the year, or the smartphone will arrive in stores in early 2012.

On related news, the same Nokia 800 was spotted in a leaked Airtel poster in India, but no details on the phone's release date or price options emerged.
