Fido announced they released the stylish Nokia 6300 in Canada, this being the first time when the Canadian provider launches a Nokia phone for the North American market. One of the thinnest Nokia mobile phones, 6300, is now one of the thinnest mobiles in Canada too. Patrick Hadsipantelis, Vice President at Fido Marketing, stated: "As a young and urban brand, Fido is bound to be the first to introduce the Nokia 6300 in North America. This sleek, stylish yet so simple to use bar-phone reflects the essence of our brand: it is smart from every angle."

6300 is sophisticated and modern, having key design elements that will surely attract customers: a compact size, stainless steel covers, simplicity of graphic symbols, recessed buttons, clean lines and organic elements including rounded edges. Besides the attractive design, lots of features and functions make this phone a practical tool for people to use and enjoy in everyday life. "Based on the design of the Nokia 6300 and the materials used, a handset like this would typically cost several hundred dollars," said Paul Chapple, the General Manager of Nokia Canada. "It is amazing that Fido's customers have exclusive North American access to the Nokia 6300 at such a low price. It is definitely a sign of how dedicated Fido is to its customer base."

Measuring 106.4 x 43.6 x 11.7 mm and weighing 91 grams, 6300 offers a 2 megapixel camera (with 8x digital zoom and video recording ability), 16.7 million true colors display, audio and video player, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, GPRS, Java etc. It has expandable microSD memory (the default card has 512 MB) and the battery is powerful enough for 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 14.5 days of standby.

Available in Canada only through Fido (and retail partners), Nokia 6300 has a starting price of $100 with a three-year Fido Agreement.

Fido Solutions, subsidiary of Rogers Wireless, is a Canadian mobile phone service provider, the first to launch a GSM-based network in Canada and the only one that bills airtime by second and not by minute.
