Verizon Wireless, the future No.1 American mobile carrier (after the acquisition of Alltel is completed), will soon release a new Nokia handset, namely Nokia 6205.

The 6205 will come in two versions, a regular one and "The Dark Knight Edition" one, the latter being packed with content from the yet to come movie with the same title. And in case you don't know, "The Dark Knight" is the latest movie featuring Batman, coming as a sequel to "Batman Begins", released by Warner Bros. in June 2005.

Despite having such a distinct name, Nokia 6205 Dark Knight Edition is only a mid-end phone. It comes in a clamshell form factor and it looks pretty nice, even if it doesn't have anything out of the ordinary.

Aside from the movie related content, the new Nokia 6205 will feature built-in GPS, EV-DO connectivity, an internal display with 240 x 320 pixels (most probably), Music player, Bluetooth, access to V CAST Music and V CAST Video, 60MB of internal memory and microSD card slot. There's also a 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, which will probably not be able to offer pictures at a high quality.

The Batmanized Nokia 6205 will be a limited edition and apparently Verizon intends to sell it only via its website. The phone is priced at $119.99 with a contract agreement for two years and at $189.99 with a contract for only one year and it should be available at the end of this week, starting the 15th of June.

For the moment, Verizon doesn't have a single Nokia phone in its line-up, hence the arrival of the 6205 clamshell is surely a good thing, as users might have gotten bored with the Samsung, Moto or LG handsets. Plus, a Batman phone is, nevertheless, something that you don't get to see everyday.
